Enon Baptist Church seeks to give glory and honor to God as Creator, and to affirm the truth of the biblical record of the real origin and history of the world and mankind.
Part of this real history is the bad news that the rebellion of the first man, Adam, against God’s command brought death, suffering, and separation from God into this world. We see the results all around us. All of Adam’s descendants are sinful from conception (Psalm 51:5) and have themselves entered into this rebellion (sin). They, therefore, cannot live with a holy God but are condemned to separation from God. The Bible says that “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” ( Romans 3:23) and that all are therefore subject to “everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power” (2 Thessalonians 1:9).
But the good news is that God has done something about it. “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Jesus Christ the Creator, though totally sinless, suffered, on behalf of mankind, the penalty of mankind’s sin, which is death and separation from God. He did this to satisfy the righteous demands of the holiness and justice of God, His Father. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice; He died on a cross, but on the third day, He rose again, conquering death, so that all who truly believe in Him, repent of their sin, and trust in Him (rather than their own merit) are able to come back to God and live for eternity with their Creator.
Therefore: “He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God” (John 3:18).
What a wonderful Savior—and what a wonderful salvation in Christ our Creator!
Accept Christ as your Savior if you seek:
- forgiveness of your sins
- to fulfill the purpose for which you were created
- to experience love and fellowship with God and your fellowman
- to experience life spiritually through the Holy Spirit
- eternal life
From the creation of the world, Genesis 1.1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” to Revelation, God’s perfect plan of the salvation of mankind is laid out. Salvation is His Son, Jesus Christ.
As we read in Genesis, Adam and Eve were created for fellowship with God and placed in the Garden of Eden. Unfortunately, they broke God’s commandment and disrupted their perfect harmony with Him. Generations later, God gave His law, the Ten commandments to Moses. However, man’s sinful nature prevented him from perfectly obeying God’s commandments and being restored to fellowship with Him.
The good news is that God’s great love for us included Jesus, our Savior, who would overcome Satan and our inherited sin of Adam. Jesus Christ brought into effect God’s perfect plan of salvation and forgiveness for all mankind. Jesus was born into a human body like ours; he lived and died, as you and I. However, Jesus was born of a virgin, His father was God, and He was perfect. No sin was in Him. Due to His love for you and me, He chose to lay down His life on the cross and was accepted by God as the complete and perfect sacrifice for our sins.
God raised Jesus from the dead and his resurrection provided for our salvation! God accepts Jesus’ sacrificial death as payment for our sins and if we believe that He is God’s Son, repent and turn from our sins, and accept Christ as Savior and Lord of our lives; then, Christ becomes the door through which we enter into full fellowship with God.
Ephesians 3.12, “Because of Christ and our faith in Him, we can now come fearlessly into God’s presence, assured of His glad welcome.”
Our prayer is that all would experience the forgiveness of sin that Jesus offers and escape the bonds of slavery to Satan, sin, and death. As Jesus said in John 10.9, “I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved.”
THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.
The Plan of Salvation
1) We are all sinners!
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
The SIN in your heart has separated you from God. There is NOTHING you can do to get to Heaven on your own.
2) There is a payment for SIN.
“For the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23
“And whosoever was not found in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Rev 20:15
3) Jesus paid for your SIN when He died on the cross!
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Jesus will forgive your SIN and give you a home in HEAVEN!
4) You must accept the FREE gift of salvation! How can I receive this gift?
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9
Would you like to pray right now and ask Jesus to save you and come in to your heart?
Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. Please forgive me of my sins and come in to my heart. I accept you as my Lord and Savior and I give my life to you. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
