The Enon Adult Sunday School Class is not meeting due to COVID-19. The lesson for the Fall Quarter is “In the Beginning,” found in the books of Genesis 1-11, & Job. Videos are not available for these lessons.

Lesson 3 — September 20, 2020:  The Beginning of Sin on Earth — Text: Genesis 3:1-24. Focus:  Genesis 3:1-13.  — Key Verse:And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat. Genesis 3:6.   Sunday Devotional:  The Consequences of One Man’s Sin. Romans 5:12-17. Application: The student will examine how sin came into the world and that all human beings are sinners by nature. Questions to think about as you study this scripture.   1. Why did Eve doubt God’s Word? Do we ever do the same?  2. Discuss the ways Eve was tempted mentioned in Genesis 3:6.  3. Did Adam act in ignorance?  Why or why not? (See 1 Timothy 2:12-15)  4. Was Jesus tempted like we are? (See Hebrews 4:14-16.)

Lesson 2 — September 13, 2020:  The Beginning of Mankind — Text: Genesis 1:25-2:25. Focus: Genesis 1:26, 27; 2:1-3, 7-9, 15-18, 21-24. — Key Verse: And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life: and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7.  Sunday Devotional:  The Purpose of God in Creating Man, Psalm 8:3-9.  Application: The student will learn that human life is created in the image of God and is unique in all creation.  Questions to think about as you study this scripture. 1. How are human beings different from all other created beings?  2. Why did God rest on the seventh day?  3. How are husband and wife to view their relationship? (See Genesis 2:23.)  4. Did God intend this marriage relationship for only Adam and Eve? Why or why not?

Lesson 1 — September 6, 2020: The Beginning of Creation — Text: Genesis 1:1-25. Focus: Genesis 1:1-23. Key Verse:In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1.  Sunday Devotional:  Made for a Purpose, Isaiah 45:17-19.  Application: The student will discuss that the beginning of faith is accepting that God created all things. Questions to think about as you study this scripture. 1. Why do you think there is such great opposition to the Bible account of creation? 2. Can we profess to believe in Jesus and reject what the Bible says about creation? Why?  3. What is the alternative to believing that God created the heaven and the earth?  4. How does creation reflect the glory of God and testify about Him?
